Consumer Description

WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK MY CAR BEGAN TO SMOKE AND MAKE A HISSING NOISE ABOUT 1 BLOCK FROM MY HOUSE. I MADE IT HOME AND NOTICED THE SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA. I IMEDIATELY SPRAYED SOME WATER ON IT JUST INCASE THERE WAS A FIRE. THERE WAS ALSO A SMELL OF BURNIN PLASTIC. I OBSERVED THE CAR FOR A FEW HOURS AND WAITED FOR IT TO COOL DOWN. WHEN LOOKING AT THE ENGINE I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A MELTED HOLE IN MY INTAKE MANIFOLD. AND MY MAP SENSOR HAD MELTED. WHILE RESEARCHING THE CAUSE I NOTICED THAT THIS IS CAUSED BY THE EGR VALVE. I SEARCHED BMW NORTH AMERICE RECALL SITE AND PUT IN MY VIN#. IT DID NOT SHOW A RECALL FOR THE EGR VALVE EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A RECALL NUMBER OF 18V755000 EGR VALVE IDENTIFYING THE 2014 BMW 328D. I CALLED BMW NORTH AMERICA AND SPOKE TO THEM ABOUT MY ISSUE AND IT DID NOT SHOW MY CAR HAVING ANY RECALLS. THERE SEEMS TO BE A DISCONNECT IF THE VIN I PROVIDED TO BMW NORTH AMERICA AND NHTSA DOES NOT SHOW ANY RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE. THIS IS A
