Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE, IT FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF GEAR. THE CONTACT HAD TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFTER BACK AND FORTH TO SHIFT OUT OF REVERSE AND INTO PARK. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING BECAUSE IT COULD NOT BE DRIVEN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
