Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED HARD BETWEEN GEARS. THE VEHICLE ALSO STARTED TO LOSE MOTIVE POWER. THE CONTACT ADDED TRANSMISSION FLUID AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO OPERATE AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT ALSO DETECTED AN ABNORMAL BURNING ODOR COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
