Consumer Description

BACKUP CAMERA DOES NOT WORK - WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE, THE BACKUP CAMERA FAILS TO ACTIVATE. THIS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY - SOMETIMES IT WILL HAPPEN THE FIRST TIME THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN (AFTER BEING PARKED OVERNIGHT), SOMETIMES IT WILL HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AROUND (I.E. DRIVE FOR A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME, THEN PARK, THEN DRIVE AGAIN - THE CAMERA WILL FAIL TO ACTIVATE UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE). I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE SINCE DECEMBER 2017, AND FIRST NOTICED THE ISSUE ABOUT A MONTH AFTER PURCHASING. DEALER CLAIMS THAT THEY ARE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. COMMENTS POSTED ONLINE AT WWW.F150FORUM.COM SUGGEST THAT THIS MAY BE RELATED TO A FAILING APIM MODULE, AND THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE.
