Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND THE INSUFFICIENT BATTERY CHARGE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO RON CARTER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM OF LEAGUE CITY (281-668-5383, LOCATED AT 3535 GULF FWY, DICKINSON, TX 77539). THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 17V435000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), 17V572000 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC), AND 18V332000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT AT THE SHOP FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. FOUR DAYS LATER, THE DEALER STILL HAD NOT COMPLETED THE REPAIR, STATING THAT THE GEAR WAS STUCK IN PARK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
