Consumer Description

THIS CAR HAS A FRONT TRUNK, AKA "FRUNK". IT IS OPENED ELECTRONICALLY, NOT MECHANICALLY. THERE IS NO OWNER ACCESSIBLE MECHANICAL OVERRIDE. IT FAILED TO OPEN ON OCTOBER 31 WHILE PARKED IN A GARAGE, 2018. IT WAS BROUGHT TO TESLA SERVICE THE NEXT DAY, AND THE "M3 FRUNK LATCH ACTUATOR PRIMARY RELEASE (1098789-00-C)" WAS REPLACED. THE FRUNK OPERATED NORMALLY THEREAFTER UNTIL JANUARY 26, 2019, WHEN IT AGAIN FAILED TO OPEN WHILE PARKED IN A PUBLIC PARKING LOT. IT WILL BE 3 WEEKS BEFORE IT CAN BE REPAIRED AGAIN, DUE TO TESLA SERVICE BACKLOG.
