Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 2500. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SHOULDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE18016 (STEERING). THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TIGHTENED THE STEERING WHEEL BOLTS AS A TEMPORARY REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO ASSIST. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.
