Consumer Description

EGR VALVE ON 2014 328D BMW : ENGINE LIGHT HAS GONE ON REPEATEDLY AFTER EACH ENGINE REPAIR. REPORTED ENGINE COOLANT HAD TO BE REFILLED BEFORE FIRST REPAIR. FIRST REPAIR CONSISTED OF 2 SENSORS FOR NOX AND 1 FILTERED AIR PIPE. ENGINE LIGHT ON AGAIN AND FOUND HOLE IN MELTED INTAKE MANIFOLD WHICH WAS REPLACED. ENGINE LIGHT REAPPEARED AGAIN. OWNER SUSPECTS EGR COOLER LEAKING INTERNALLY MIXING WITH DIESEL ENGINE SOOT. TOLD THIS TO SERVICE TECH AT BMW OF OCALA AND REPORTED ALSO TO BMW OF NORTH AMERICA. LOOKING TO BE REIMBURSED FOR PAST FAULTY ENGINE REPAIRS AND ASKING FOR RECALL ON VEHICLE FOR THIS ENGINE FAILURE WITH POTENTIAL FOR DEATH AND FIRE HAZARDS. ENGINE FAULT ON SCREEN MESSAGE SAID" DRIVE MODERATELY. MAXIMUM DRIVE TRAIN OUTPUT NOT AVAILABLE. CONSULT SERVICE CENTER"( WHICH I DID AND STILL HAS NOT FIXED IT PROPERLY).
