TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TAILGATE FAILED TO OPEN WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE TRUCK FARM OF EASLEY (4296 CALHOUN MEMORIAL HWY, EASLEY, SC 29640, (864) 220-1811), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO A TOYOTA DEALER. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 1810172395. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,933.
