Consumer Description
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD RANGER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FROM THE NEW YORK MVA/DMV REGARDING THE TAKATA AIR BAG. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V788000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED HUNTINGTON FORD LINCOLN (LOCATED AT 333 W JERICHO TURNPIKE, HUNTINGTON, NY 11743, (631) 271-6800), NEWINS BAY SHORE FORD (LOCATED AT 219 W MAIN ST, BAY SHORE, NY 11706, (631) 665-1300), AND FORD & LINCOLN OF SMITHTOWN (440 JERICHO TURNPIKE, SMITHTOWN, NY 11787, (631) 265-2340) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
