TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BMW X5. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE 'SERVICE ENGINE SOON" MESSAGE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE TURBO AUXILIARY WATER PUMP FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V248000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
