MAJOR CRACKING IN DASHBOARD -- LARGE CRACK FRONT TO BACK OVER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER; OTHER SERIOUS CRACKS IN MIDDLE REAR OF DASH; MORE AROUND PASSENGER AIRBAG COVER. THIS DASHBOARD IS COMPLETELY DEFECTIVE AND MUST BE MADE OF CHEAP PLASTIC... AS AN UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCE, MY PASSENGER AIRBAG COMPARTMENT IS NOW SURROUNDED BY LOOSE PIECES OF PLASTIC SHRAPNEL... NOT SAFE. I HAVE READ ONLINE AND BECOME AWARE THAT THIS IS A WIDELY KNOWN COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE GM DASHBOARDS... PLEASE DON'T WAIT FOR CASUALTY STATISTICS TO KICK IN... THIS IS A COMMON SENSE ISSUE THAT IS CLEARLY DEFECTIVE AND GM SHOULD BE MADE TO RECALL THESE UNSAFE DASHBOARDS BEFORE THE PERSONAL INJURY STATISTICS BUILD UP.
