Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE CONTACT POWERED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH AND KEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO PERRY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2340 NATIONAL CITY, CA 91950, (619) 477-1234), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 212,885. *TT CONSUMER STATED IGNITION SWITCH FAILED MANY TIMES TO START THE ENGINE, AND ALSO HAPPENED ONCE WHILE DRIVVING. UPDATED 8/30/18*JB
