Consumer Description
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD ESCAPE. WHILE DRIVING OVER 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE RIGHT AND THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VARSITY LINCOLN (49251 GRAND RIVER AVE, NOVI, MI 48376) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V284000 (STEERING); THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.
