Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE, THE CONTACT'S FOOT SLIPPED OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL ONTO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A BARN. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V572000 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
