Consumer Description

VEHICLE PURCHASED WITH 112,000 MILES. AT 119,000 THE CAR WOULDN'T START RANDOMLY AFTER DRIVING IT ALL DAY. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I WAS LEAVING TO RUN AN ERRAND AND IT WOULDN'T START. THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF ANY ISSUE. NO LOUD OR UNCOMMON NOISES, NO DASH LIGHTS SIGNALING A PROBLEM - NOTHING! TWO DAYS LATER I HAD IT TOWED IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE FOUND A PROBLEM WITH TIMING CHAIN AND HEAD GASKET. WE ARE STILL IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING IT FULLY DIAGNOSED, AND A PRICE ESTIMATE FOR REPAIRS. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH WHICH INDICATES THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN VOLKSWAGEN MODELS LIKE MINE. VOLKSWAGEN IS ALSO AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING FURTHER ABOUT IT.
