Consumer Description
TL* THE CONTACT, AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, CALLED TO FILE A COMPLAINT FOR THE OWNER OF A 2008 FORD ESCAPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE WITH THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WAS DIFFICULT TO OPERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING REVERTED BACK TO MANUAL OPERATION DUE TO THE EPS FAILURE. LYNCH FORD (410 US-30, MT VERNON, IA 52314, (319) 895-8500) WAS CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE OWNER WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V284000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 156,000. *TT *TR
