Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE OVER 70 MPH. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS WHITE AND GRAY SMOKE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT OPENED THE HOOD AND OBSERVED FLAMES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT CALLED BOGGUS FORD AT 956-686-7411 TO SPEAK WITH A MANAGER AND WAS INFORMED TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THREE OPEN RECALLS. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
