Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 GMC TERRAIN. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, A SOUND WAS HEARD FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO BEES CHEVROLET (2100 OLD US 27, ST. JOHNS, MI, 48879, 989-224-2345) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PVC FROZE AND CAUSED THE REAR CRANKSHAFT SEAL TO BLOW. THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED AND REPLACED THE ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. *TR
