Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT NOTICED A FUEL LEAK UNDERNEATH THE REAR CENTER END OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE WOULD "KICK" BEFORE ACCELERATING FORWARD AND STALL WHEN INITIALLY ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY A FEW TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD SUCCESSFULLY START. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING INTO THE EXHAUST DUE TO A FAULTY FUEL PUMP AND FRACTURE ON THE SEAL TO THE FUEL TANK. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAL AND/OR THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000.
