Consumer Description

VEHICLE ALTERNATOR STARTED TO SMOKE AND CATCH ON FIRE, AFTER SHORTING ITSELF OUT. VEHICLE WAS ON THE ROAD THEN PARKED IN DRIVEWAY. I REPORTED IT TO DODGE WHO ADVISED IT WAS ON RECALL (T36). CALLED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE TO REPORT. THEY SET UP A TOW AND ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE WITH CURRENT MODEL ALTERNATOR AND IF NEEDED THE PCM AND BATTERY. DEALERSHIP NOW STATING CHRYSLER WILL NOT COVER PCM OR BATTERY. NOW I HAVE A VEHICLE AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT WONT RUN WITH A NEW ALTERNATOR . CHRYSLER CARE MADE NOTES WHEN I FIRST TALKED WITH THEM ON THIS CASE # 32398928 FROM CUSTOMER CARE. NOW THEY WILL NOT ADMIDT THAT THEY AUTHORIZED REPAIR OF ALTORNATOR, PCM , AND BATTERY.
