Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE CONTACT NOTICED A FUEL ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (SCAP AUTO, 430 TUNXIS HILL RD, FAIRFIELD, CT, 203-384-0005) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER BOX WAS REWIRED AND COULD CAUSE A FIRE. THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED THAT THE POWER BOX BE REPLACED AND THAT DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS NEEDED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
