Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD GRINDING SOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO APPLE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1684 WESTON CT, SHAKOPEE, MN 55379) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR PINION CAM BOLT FAILED AND THE VEHICLE REQUIRED A REAR-END REBUILD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V038000 (POWER TRAIN). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
