Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2005 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE DRIVER WAS DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE CONTACT WAS SIGNALED THAT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WAS EMITTING SMOKE. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE TO A SHOULDER LANE AND CONFIRMED THE REAR DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS EMITTING SMOKE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND IT WAS UNKNOWN IF A POLICE/FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. UPDATED 08/22/17*LJ *CN
