Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT SERVICED A 2004 VOLVO XC90. WHILE PARKED, THE VEHICLE EMITTED A STRONG FUEL ODOR AND THERE WAS FUEL VISIBLE ABOVE THE FUEL PUMP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP HOUSING AND FLANGE WERE DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MAUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V483000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
