Consumer Description

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: VEHICLE "HESITATES" WHEN PUTTING INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE OR MOVING FORWARD FROM A "STOPPED" POSITION. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY - I DON'T KNOW WHEN I PRESS THE GAS IF I WILL MOVE FORWARD. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN TRYING TO MERGE ONTO A HIGHWAY - THOUGH IT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME THINKS I WILL MOVE FORWARD WHEN A LIGHT TURNS GREEN. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I SHOULD CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP PERIODICALLY FOR SOFTWARE UPDATES -- THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT SOFTWARE SUPPOSEDLY "LESSENS" THE PROBLEM. I HAD ONE SOFTWARE UPDATE: PROBLEM RECURRED THE NEXT DAY AND CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM. I AM AFRAID TO ALLOW MY TEENAGER DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE UNPREDICTABILITY OF THE PROBLEM -- IT'S FRIGHTENING ENOUGH FOR ME, LET ALONE AN INEXPERIENCED DRIVER. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE -- NO "FIX" IS AN UNACCEPTABLE RESPONSE! *TR
