Consumer Description
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 3500. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED IN REVERSE, THE DRIVER IMMEDIATELY OBSERVED SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. AFTER ALL THE PASSENGERS WERE EVACUATED FROM THE VEHICLE, THE HORN SOUNDED AND THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES WITHIN 5 TO 10 MINUTES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000.
