Consumer Description
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE TRUNK LATCH OPENED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE MANUAL SENSOR FAILED DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE TRUNK. THIS WAS A RECURRING FAILURE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRUNK RELEASE WITH HARNESS AND A TWO STEP BUTTON NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
