Consumer Description
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V391000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) IN OCTOBER OF 2014. ON MAY 2, 2015, WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR. SHORTLY AFTER, FLAMES WERE PRESENT COMING FROM THE VISOR. THE CONTACT USED A FIRE EXTINGUISHER TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,136.
