TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW X5. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING, THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER EXHAUST PIPE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOTH A DEALER AND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE VALVE STEM HAD A LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
