Consumer Description

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE AND PASSENGER'S SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED WITH AN AFTER MARKET ALTERNATOR BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
