Consumer Description
I WAS BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND STOPPED WITH THE BRAKE ON TO PROCEED FORWARD OUT OF THE LOT. I PUT THE CAR FROM REVERSE INTO DRIVE AND IT SIMPLY TOOK OFF AT AN EXTRAORDINARILY HIGH SPEED. I HAD NOT YET EVEN PUT MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE CAR BARRELED INTO A TREE THAT WAS 20-25 FEET IN FRONT OF IT AND CRASHED. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND THE WHOLE FRONT END WAS DESTROYED. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION SERVICE WHERE IT WAS EXAMINED AND FOUND TO HAVE AN ERRATIC THROTTLE. *TR
