Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA RAV4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE OIL REQUIRED TO BE CONTINUOUSLY DISPENSED INTO THE OIL RESERVOIR. THE FAILURE ALSO RECURRED AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO PERFORMED AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE PISTON ASSEMBLY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
