Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT PREVIOUSLY RENTED A 2011 JEEP PATRIOT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO RENTAL CENTER. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF THE REPAIR PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. RECENTLY, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THERE WAS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION RELATED TO THE SIMILAR DEFECT UNDER NHTSA ACTION NUMBER PE12032 (ENGINE). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
