Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 LEXUS LS460. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE, SHE STARTED SMELLING WIRES BURNING AND SMOKE WAS EMITTING FROM THE HOOD. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED WHO THREW WATER ON THE ENGINE AND DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE STARTER WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO FILED A COMPLAINT AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD BE CONTACTING HER BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30, 000. UPDATED 2/8/12 *CN
