Consumer Description

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET S10. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 5 MPH AND ATTEMPTING A U-TURN, THE BRAKES BEGAN TO LOOSE PRESSURE ABNORMALLY. IN ORDER TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, HE CONTINUED TO PUMP THE BRAKES UNTIL THEY RETURNED TO NORMAL OPERATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THERE WERE NO CURRENT RECALLS ON THE PARTICULAR COMPONENT. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THE ELECTRONIC ABS WOULD NEED REPLACING TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
