Consumer Description

I HAVE A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA SEDAN THAT HAD THE REAR SWAY BAR SNAPPED IN TWO. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP HAD MENTIONED THAT IT IS NOT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, BUT UPON AN INDEPENDENT INSPECTION BY A 3RD PARTY MECHANIC, THERE WAS NO APPARENT DAMAGE TO THE AREA SURROUND THE AREA WHERE THE SWAY BAR SNAPPED. ALSO, THE MECHANIC MENTIONED THAT THE SWAY BAR WAS MANUFACTURED AS A HOLLOW TUBE AND THEREFORE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SUPPORT THE TENSION. THE SWAY BAR SNAPPED IN THE CONNECTION POINT WHERE IT WAS MOUNTED ON THE CHASSIS OF THE VEHICLE. I ALSO HAVE READ ABOUT OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME VEHICLE WHICH HAVE ENCOUNTERED THE SAME PROBLEM.
