Consumer Description

I AM THE OWNER AND SOLE OPERATOR OF A 2007 NISSAN ALTIMA 3.5SE WITH 37,000 MILES. THE REAR SWAY BAR SNAPPED WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN INTO A PARKING LOT UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE CAR IS VERY WELL CARED FOR AND HAS NEVER BEEN DRIVEN HARSHLY. FURTHER, THIS IS A PART THAT SHOULD, REALISTICALLY, _NEVER_ FAIL UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS; AND UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS MODEL AND YEAR OF MANUFACTURE. I HAVE TRIED TO REMEDY THE SITUATION WITH NISSAN DEALERS AND WITH NISSAN'S "CUSTOMER CARE" LINE WITHOUT SATISFACTION. THIS PART IS CLEARLY DEFECTIVE IN ITS MANUFACTURE AND SHOULD BE REPLACED AT NISSAN'S COST. MORE IMPORTANTLY, THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN, AS FAILURE OF THIS PART CAN COMPROMISE HANDLING DURING EMERGENCY MANEUVERS. *KB
