Consumer Description

WINDSHIELD FAILURE-WHILE DRIVING IN 18 DEGREE WEATHER, WINDSHIELD CRACKED 18 INCHES ALONG BASE, APPROXIMATELY 3 INCHES FROM SEAL RUNNING FROM CENTER OF WINDSHIELD TO DRIVER'S SIDE, LEFT OF STEERING COLUMN. WINDSHIELD WAS FREE OF SNOW OR ICE, AND NO WIPERS RUNNING, HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR 10 MINUTES, DEFROST SETTING ON MEDIUM. CROSSROADS FORD OF CARY SERVICE BLAMES "CHIP" IN WINDSHIELD, INVISIBLE TO OWNER. UNWILLING TO REPAIR DEFECT UNDER WARRANTY. OWNER MIGHT ACCEPT THIS EXPLANATION IF "CHIP" COULD BE SEEN BY NAKED EYE. *TR
