Consumer Description

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE OVERHEAD COMPARTMENT DIRECTLY ABOVE THE REARVIEW MIRROR CAME DOWN AND STRUCK THE CONTACT IN THE EYE. THE GLASSES SHE WAS WEARING PREVENTED THE INJURY FROM BEING SEVERE. THE CONTACT PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND LEARNED THAT THE COVER TO THE COMPARTMENT AND THE MECHANISM THAT CONTROLS THE SUNROOF FAILED. SHE WAS ABLE TO CLOSE THE COMPARTMENT UNTIL SHE RETURNED HOME, BUT IT WOULD NOT COMPLETELY LATCH BACK TOGETHER. THE SUNROOF HAS NEVER BEEN USED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 54,000.
