The component is wheel speed sensors. Safety issues - uncontrolled speed, transmission, engine performance, vehicle unable to be operated safely - Had the problem in 2020 (twice) - 2 of 4 sensors replaced after towing....again, in 2020 the third failed - had the 4th replaced at my expense. This year, two days of terror driving across WA - made it to Spokane Mercedes - three of the four sensors were reported as bad - replaced. Almost all warning lights were on at some point getting to the repair - ABS most consistent. This needs a fix as the vehicle is a risk (if you panic). I have learned to get to the side of the road and turn it off - then restart - sometimes works. I suggest the computer programming be adjusted to allow for operation. Otherwise, can you help me in any way - I do not trust...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 WINNEBAGO VIEW. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, IT CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT CALLED MERCEDES-BENZ OF ROCHESTER (4447 CANAL PL SE, ROCHESTER, MN 55904, (507) 216-9006). THE DEALER HAD AN INVESTIGATOR INSPECT THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA. A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY ALSO CAME OUT AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE GLOW PLUG STUCK ON THE ENGINE CAUSED THE FIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND AGREED WITH THE DEALER'S ASSESSMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
