TWO DAYS AFTER PURCHASING THIS USED 2017 FUSE, THE AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH FAILED. SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE ELECTRICAL COMPARTMENT. WE DROVE BACK TO THE DEALER IN LINCOLN NEBRASKA. THE ATS WAS REPLACED. THE NEXT TIME WE PLUGGED INTO SHORE POWER, THE ATS WORKED FOR A FEW HOURS, AND FAILED AGAIN. WE ARE WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THE DEALER. IF WE HAD NOT BEEN WITH THE UNIT, THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A HUGE FIRE! THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND PARKED IN A LEVEL SPOT WITH GREAT CLEARANCE AND AIR FLOW AROUND IT.
#11322986 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | | 14,000 miles Fire
ON MAY 28, 2019 WHILE PARKED IN A CAMPGROUND MY ATS (AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH) CAUGHT FIRE, ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS INSIDE THE RIG SHUT DOWN, I SMELLED SMOKE AND IMMEDIATELY KNEW WHAT TO CHECK AS OVER 30 MEMBERS ON THE FUSE FACEBOOK PAGE HAVE DOCUMENTED THIS. I WENT OUTSIDE AND SMOKE WAS BILLOWING OUT THE ELECTRICAL ACCESS DOOR. I IMMEDIATELY UNPLUGGED FROM SHORE POWER. THANK GOD I WAS THERE WHEN IT HAPPENED. I WAS TOLD IT WAS NO LONGER IN WARRANTY AND HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR REPLACEMENT. NUMEROUS MEMBERS HAVE CONTACTED WINNEBAGO WITH NO RESULTS. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING TO KEEP SEEING IT HAPPEN TO FELLOW FUSE OWNERS.
#11104832 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | | N/A miles Fire
THIS WINNEBAGO RECREATIONAL VEHICLE HAS SUFFERED MULTIPLE AUTOMATIC TRANSFER SWITCH (ATS) FAILURE AS REPORTED BY MANY OWNERS ON A FUSE OWNERS SITE. THERE IS A BUILD-UP OF HEAT, SMOKE AND FLAME PRESENT WHEN IT HAPPENS, AS IT DID IN MY UNIT. MY ATS SMOKED AND PRESENTED BURNED PARTS AS MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A RV PARK IN FLORIDA. I DID NOT GET ANY RECALL NOTICE FROM WINNEBAGO EVEN THOUGH THESE SWITCHES HAVE BEEN SUBJECT OF MULTIPLE FAILURES AS REPORTED BY MAYY FUSE OWNERS MEMBERS OF THE FACEBOOK WINNEBAGO FUSE OWNERS SITE.*DT *TR
