#11090466 | STRUCTURE:BODY | | 13,000 miles
WHILE DRIVING DOWN I-95 IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA, THE CLOSED VENT WINDOW, ON THE BODY OF THE MOTOR HOME DIRECTLY BEHIND THE DRIVER'S DOOR, HAD AN APPARENT ADHESIVE FAILURE WHERE THE WINDOW ATTACHES TO THE CRANK MECHANISM AND BLEW OFF THE MOTOR HOME. FORTUNATELY, THERE WERE NO VEHICLES IN THE PATH OF THE WINDOW WHICH SHATTERED ON THE INTERSTATE. SERIOUS INJURIES OR ACCIDENTS COULD HAVE RESULTED FROM THIS WINDOW FAILURE. WE CONTACTED WINNEBAGO DIRECTLY IN FOREST CITY, IOWA TO INFORM THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE COMPANY HAS OFFERED NO HELP TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION. IN READING THE WINNEBAGO ASPECT FORUMS, WINDOW FAILURES IN THE 2016 MODEL YEAR OF THE ASPECT HAVE OCCURRED FREQUENTLY DUE TO ADHESIVE FAILURE WHERE THE WINDOW IS ATTACHED TO THE CRANK MECHANISM. THE REPLACEMENT WINDOW HAS YET TO ARRIVE OVER 6 WEEKS LATER CAUSING NOT ONLY LOSS OF USE OF THE MOTOR HOME, BUT A SUBSTANTIAL COST TO US OF OVER $1200.00 FOR THE WINDOW.
