"OIL LOW" MESSAGE APPEARED ON LCD DISPLAY INSIDE SPEEDOMETER DIAL. TURNED OFF CAR, WAITED FOR OIL TO DRAIN (10 MINUTES), AND CHECKED DIPSTICK. BONE DRY. HAD TO ADD 3 QUARTS OF OIL (ADDED WHAT WAS ON STICKER IN WINDSHIELD) TO REACH THE ACCEPTABLE MIDPOINT ON THE DIPSTICK. CAR SHOULD NOT BE USING HALF OF THE OIL IN THE ENGINE BETWEEN SERVICES. PROBLEM HAS NOT POPPED UP BEFORE THIS. AS A CAR MAY BE 1 QUART LOW AT TIME OF SERVICING, BEING HALF EMPTY IS UNACCEPTABLE. CAR HAS HAD REGULAR MAINTENANCE SINCE BUILT-TO-ORDER NEW IN 2010. VOLVO XC60 T6 AWD. *JS
