PULLED OFF OF HIGHWAY, RESTARTED CAR AFTER ABOUT 60 SECONDS AND CAR RAN WITHOUT ANY FURTHER PROBLEMS. THIS IS SIMILAR BEHAVIOR I EXPERIENCED WITH A 2001 XC70 THAT HAD A RECALL FOR THE THROTTLE BODY ECM. *TR
2005 VOLVO XC-70 BROKEN FRONT PASSENGER SIDE COIL SPRING 71,000 MILES. *TR
MY WIFE WAS IN REVERSE, BACKING UP IN HER 2005 VOLVO XC70 WITH HER FOOT SOLIDLY ON THE BRAKE. CAR ACCELERATED AND BRAKING WOULDN'T STOP THE CAR. WHEN IT HIT A LIGHT POLE IT STOPPED. MY WIFE IS POSITIVE HER FOOT WAS ON BRAKE. THE DEALER AND VOLVO FACTORY PEOPLE RAN TESTS AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH CAR. THERE IS APPROX $2000 IN DAMAGE TO CAR AND POLE. ONLY HAPPENED ONCE. AS STATED, VOLVO FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH CAR. *TR
