The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated, and there was smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle started shaking and failed to accelerate as intended. The vehicle was towed to a dealer approximately five times, and an oil consumption test was performed. The contact also stated that the check engine warning light illuminated every five thousand miles. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000.
