THERE IS A CONSTANT COOLANT LEAK COMING FROM THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING AND WATER PUMP AREA. IT STARTED AS A SLOW LEAK, EVERY 10,000 MILES OR SO I WOULD HAVE TO TOP IT OFF AND NOW IT HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE I HAVE TO FILL IT BACK UP EVERY DAY. LOOKED INTO IT ONLINE AND IT SEEMS THAT NEARLY EVERYONE THAT OWNS THIS CAR HAS THE SAME ISSUE AND EVERYONE'S LEAK COMES FROM THIS AREA.THE LEAK HAPPENS AT ALL TIMES BUT IS GREATLY ACCELERATED WHEN DRIVING AND THE COOLANT SYSTEM IS RUNNING.

DISCOVERED COOLANT LEAK ON OIL PAN AND CONTACTED DEALERSHIP. THIS WAS DURING ROUTINE INSPECTION. DEALERSHIP INSPECTION REVEALED A FAILED WATER PUMP HOUSING. DEALERSHIP REPLACED HOUSING, THERMOSTAT AND THERMOSTAT GASKET UNDER WARRANTY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CHARCOAL CANISTER AND SUCTION PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CHAPMAN VOLKSWAGEN OF TUCSON (4500 E 22ND ST, TUCSON, AZ 85711) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

2017 VW GTI 4 DOOR. SE TRIM. A COUPLE WEEKS AFTER REACHING 40K MILES, AFTER DRIVING SEVERAL BLOCKS AND MAKING IT ONTO A MAIN ROAD, THE VEHICLE STALLED OUT AND DIED WHILE IN MOTION AT ABOUT 20-25MPH. THIS WAS AFTER WHAT SEEMED LIKE A VERY CLUNKY FEELING SHIFTING TRANSMISSION FOR A FEW DAYS LEADING UP TO THE CAR BREAKING DOWN. CAR SMELLED LIKE FUEL IN THE CABIN. CAR NEEDED TO BE TOWED TO VEWDEALERSHIP IN LATE HOURS OF THE EVENING. DEALERSHIP CALLED THE NEXT DAY TO SAY THEY WERE ABLE TO TURN THE CAR ON AND DRIVE IT. NO OBVIOUS ERROR CODES ON VEHICLE AND THEY WOULD DO SOME DEEPER DIVING INTO WHAT CAN BE WRONG. THEY HELD ONTO THE CAR FOR 4 DAYS AND WERE NOT ABLE TO "DUPLICATE THE ISSUE" SO THEY RETURNED THE CAR BACK TO ME. THEY THOUGHT "MAYBE A PIECE OF DIRT GOT INTO A...
