The contact’s son owns a 2017 Triumph Street Twin. The contact stated that whenever the motorcycle was started, the RPM increased and the engine revved while in a standalone position. The contact stated that once the motorcycle was placed in a straight position and the handlebars were straight, the RPM decreased. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V133000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, approximately two weeks ago, the motorcycle failed to accelerate as intended with the throttle engaged. The motorcycle was taken to a Motorsports dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that there was water inside the fuel pump. The contact stated that the motorcycle was kept indoors. The motorcycle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure....
OVER TIME, THE TURN SIGNALS STOP WORKING BECAUSE OF HOW TIGHTLY THE WIRING HARNESS IS TO THE HEADSTOCK. BECAUSE OF THE OVEREXTENSION OF THE WIRES, THE CONNECTION FOR THE TURN SIGNALS BEGINS TO BREAK THUS CAUSING DAMAGE.
