Clutch slipping causing the inability to accelerate when needed
The clutch is slipping while driving I have had it happen when shifting to 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
on [XXX] this vehicle lost power on the very busy interstate due to the clutch failing. this caused loss of power, and i had to exit the vehicle to push it to the side of the road while traffic was passing at 55+ mph. I could have very easily been hit either inside or outside of the vehicle and could do nothing to prevent this. other people could be injured due to the vehicle being stopped in the middle of the highway. this is due to a premature failing of the clutch liner. Toyota will not replace under warranty stating that it is a wear and tear item. there was no warning it failed, and it rendered the vehicle inoperable. Toyota diagnosed a failed clutch, at 20347 miles. this vehicle has not been abused and was driven to and from work only with 95% of the driving on the highway....
