Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Consequence: If the sliding electrical contacts are not protected by lubricant, debris and moisture that get into the switch may cause a short circuit and the switch assembly may overheat and melt, increasing the risk of a fire.

THE CONTACT WAS NOT PROVIDED INFORMATION AS TO WHICH AIR BAGS WERE AFFECTED UNDER THE RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. TRANSMISSION: MY 2011 TOYOTA MATRIX JERKS AND ACCELERATES SUDDENLY WITH A REVVING NOISE AND MAKING CHOKING SOUNDS LIKE GEARS SHIFTING IN A MANUAL TRANSMISSION CAR. THIS HAPPENS EACH TIME I SLOW DOWN TO MAKE A TURN (LEFT OR RIGHT) OR MERGE INTO THE FREEWAY, WHEN I SLOW DOWN AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND TRIES TO TAKE OFF AS THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN, AND WHEN I SLOW DOWN AND TRY CHANGING LANE TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD TO PRESS HARD ON THE BREAKS TO AVOID HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE I STARTED DRIVING THE CAR AFTER TAKING OVER FROM MY DAUGHTER ONE AND A HALF YEARS AGO. THANKS YOU.

EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. MY CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING AT A TURN, SEVERAL TIMES IN THE COLD AND CAUSING MY CAR TO SLIP. LUCKILY I WAS IN A PARKING LOT BUT WHEN I SLOWED AND TURNED, MY CAR WOULD TURN OFF AND RIGHT BACK ON. I COULD NOT GET A DIAGNOSIS BECAUSE IT DIDN'T HAPPEN AT THE DEALER. BUT THEN I TOOK A TEST AND FOUND OUT I HAVE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. NOT SURE IF RELATED.
